Topple Yard — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how DevNPlay ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the mobile game Topple Yard (the "Game"). You can play the whole Game without creating an account, without giving us your name, and without an internet connection. We collect as little as we can get away with, and this page describes exactly what that is.
By downloading or playing the Game you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
2. Information We Collect
We never ask you to register, and we never ask for your real name, email address, or phone number. The information involved is limited to:
- An anonymous player ID — when the Game first connects, it signs in anonymously with Firebase Authentication and receives a random identifier. It is not your name, not your email, and not tied to your Apple ID. It is stored on your device and it is the only key to your leaderboard record.
- A nickname and an avatar — only if you choose to set them. Both are optional, you are asked after clearing level 5, and both are shown publicly on the leaderboard (see "Leaderboard and Your Public Profile").
- Your progress level and win streak — the level number you have reached and your current first-try win streak, so the leaderboard can rank you.
- A country code — derived from your device language and region setting, so the leaderboard can offer a country view. It is NOT derived from GPS, and NOT from your IP address. The Game never requests location permission.
- Per-level statistics — for levels you complete, the level number, how many attempts it took, and how many balls you used.
- Device and technical data — the ad and purchase SDKs we embed receive standard device information such as device model, operating system version, language and region, and (subject to your permission) an advertising identifier.
- Purchase status — when you buy something, Apple processes the payment and tells the Game only that the item was purchased. We never receive or store your card number, billing address, or Apple ID.
- Support messages — if you email us, we receive the address you write from and whatever you choose to tell us.
3. How We Use Information
- To run the Game and save your place in it.
- To display the world and country leaderboards.
- To understand which levels are too hard or too easy, and to balance them.
- To deliver and measure advertising, and to enable and restore in-app purchases.
- To answer your support requests.
4. Your Progress Is Stored On Your Device
This is the most important thing to understand about the Game, and it cuts both ways. Your actual save — your level, coins, boosters, lives, streaks and settings — lives in a file on your device and nowhere else. We do not operate a cloud save.
- Your save cannot be transferred to another device. There is no sign-in and no import, so a new phone starts a new, empty game.
- Deleting the Game deletes your progress, permanently. We cannot restore it, because we never had a copy.
- The only things that leave your device are the leaderboard fields listed in section 2 — your anonymous ID, your nickname and avatar if you set them, your level, your win streak, your country code, and your per-level statistics.
5. Leaderboard and Your Public Profile
The Game has a world and country leaderboard. If you set a nickname, you are choosing to publish information, and you should treat it that way.
- Your nickname, your chosen avatar picture, your country code and your level are visible to every other player of the Game.
- Setting a nickname is optional. Until you set one, your record carries no name and is not shown on the board.
- Please do not use your real name, or anything you would not want a stranger to see. A nickname is a public handle, not a private label.
- Your anonymous player ID is not displayed to other players.
6. Advertising
The Game shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Most ads are rewarded — you choose to watch one in exchange for something, and nothing happens if you decline. There is also an occasional full-screen ad between levels, and an ad when returning to the Game after a long absence.
- Google AdMob acts as an independent controller of the data it collects through its SDK. Its handling is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
- On iOS, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt asks whether the Game may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you decline, ads still appear, but they are not personalised. The Game plays identically either way.
- In the European Economic Area and the UK, a Google-certified consent form (UMP) asks separately about personalised advertising. You can change that choice later.
- The app declares Apple’s SKAdNetwork identifiers, which lets ad networks measure install attribution in a way that does not identify you individually. iOS may send those attribution reports regardless of your tracking answer.
- Buying REMOVE ADS stops the forced between-level and returning-player ads permanently. Rewarded ads remain available by choice, because they are how you earn rewards without paying.
7. Gameplay Statistics
The Game does not embed a general-purpose analytics SDK. What it records is narrow and specific: for a level you complete, it stores the level number, the number of attempts, and the number of balls used, against your anonymous ID. We use it to find levels that are unfairly hard or trivially easy. It contains nothing about you personally.
8. In-App Purchases
The Game offers optional purchases — coin packs, bundles, and a one-time REMOVE ADS. All payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details.
REMOVE ADS is a permanent, non-consumable purchase tied to your Apple ID. Use "Restore Purchases" in the settings menu to recover it on a reinstall or a new device. Coin packs and bundles are consumable: they are spent inside the Game and cannot be restored.
9. What We Do Not Collect
For the avoidance of doubt, the Game does not request, access, or collect any of the following:
- Your location. There is no location permission and no GPS or IP-based geolocation. The country shown on the leaderboard comes from your device’s own language and region setting.
- Your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, calendar, or health data.
- Your real name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
- Your payment card details.
- Any social network account. There is no Facebook, Google, or Apple sign-in.
10. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers needed to run the Game:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) — hosts the anonymous sign-in and the leaderboard records.
- Google AdMob and its consent platform (UMP) — serves and measures advertising.
- Apple — processes purchases and, on iOS, provides the tracking permission and SKAdNetwork attribution mechanisms.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
11. Data Retention
Your leaderboard record is kept for as long as the Game operates, so that your ranking persists between sessions. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request. Data held by Google and Apple is retained under their own policies.
12. Deleting Your Data
We want to be straight with you about how this works, because a promise we cannot keep is worse than an honest limitation.
Your leaderboard record is keyed by an anonymous ID that only your installed copy of the Game holds. That has two consequences. First, we have no way to identify which record is yours from an email alone — you will need to send us the nickname you chose, or we cannot find it. Second, if we delete the record while the Game is still installed, the app will simply write it back on the next launch.
So the sequence that actually works is: delete the app from your device first, then email us at [email protected] with your nickname and ask us to remove the record. Deleting the app on its own erases your local save immediately and permanently.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Game is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information — most likely by entering a nickname — please contact us and we will remove it.
14. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict its processing, receive a copy in a portable form, and withdraw consent you have given. Where we rely on consent — advertising personalisation in particular — you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
Our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (running the Game and its leaderboard), our legitimate interests (fixing bugs and balancing difficulty), and your consent (personalised advertising). The data controller is DevNPlay, reachable at [email protected].
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. Please see section 12 for what we can and cannot do about deletion.
15. Security
Traffic between the Game and our backend is encrypted in transit, and access to leaderboard records is restricted by server-side security rules so that one player cannot read or alter another player’s record. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
16. International Transfers
Our service providers operate globally, so the limited information described here may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on the safeguards offered by those providers, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Game changes. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be reflected in the Game or on this site.
18. Contact Us
