NovaSwarm — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how DevNPlay ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the mobile game NovaSwarm (the "Game"). We built NovaSwarm to be playable without you creating an account or giving us your name, and we collect as little personal information as possible.
By downloading or playing the Game you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
2. Information We Collect
We do not ask you to register or provide your real name, email, or phone number to play. The information involved is limited to:
- Device & technical data — device model, operating system version, language, region, and a non-permanent advertising identifier, used to run, secure, and improve the Game.
- Gameplay & analytics data — events such as runs started, sectors cleared, scores, settings, crashes and performance metrics, collected in aggregate to fix bugs and balance the Game.
- Cloud-saved progress — your progress (unlocked ships, upgrades, currency, boosters, and best scores) is backed up to our cloud provider under a random, anonymous identifier so you can restore it on a new or reinstalled device (see "Cloud Saves").
- Purchase data — when you buy something, the App Store or Google Play processes the payment and our purchase provider (RevenueCat) tells us only whether the entitlement is active. We never receive or store your card number.
- Advertising data — when ads are shown, our ad partner (Google AdMob) may process a device advertising identifier and limited device data to deliver and measure ads, including personalized ads where you permit tracking (see "Advertising").
- Support messages — if you email us, we receive the email address you write from and whatever you choose to include.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Game, including syncing and restoring your progress.
- To fix crashes, diagnose problems, and improve performance and game balance.
- To deliver and measure advertising (personalized only where you permit tracking) and to enable and restore in-app purchases.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
- To respond to your support requests.
4. Advertising
The Game may display ads served by Google AdMob. On iOS, the Game asks for your permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt before using a device advertising identifier for personalized advertising. If you allow it, our ad partner may show and measure personalized ads; if you decline, you still see ads, but they are non-personalized.
You can change your choice at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads, where you can opt out of ads personalization). Where tracking is not permitted, only non-personalized ads are shown.
5. Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the Game is used in aggregate (for example, which sectors are too hard, or where crashes happen). This data is tied to random device identifiers, not to your identity.
6. Cloud Saves
NovaSwarm backs up your game progress to a cloud database provided by Google Firebase so you can continue on another device. This uses anonymous authentication: the Game creates a random, anonymous identifier for your install — it is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or Google account. The only data stored is your in-game progress (such as unlocked ships, upgrades, currency, boosters, and scores).
Because the identifier is anonymous and stored on your device, uninstalling the app or switching devices without carrying over that identifier may start a new, empty cloud profile. To request deletion of a cloud profile associated with your device, email us and we will help.
7. In-App Purchases
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google and, for entitlement management, by our purchase provider (RevenueCat). Payment details are handled by the store and never reach our servers. We receive only an anonymized record that a purchase (such as "remove ads" or a credit pack) is active.
8. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Game — app stores, cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, and purchase processing — and only as needed for those functions, or where required by law.
9. Data Retention
Cloud-saved progress is retained while your install remains active so it can be restored, and is deleted on request. Analytics and crash data are retained only as long as needed to operate and improve the Game, then aggregated or deleted. Support emails are kept while your request is open and for a reasonable period afterward.
10. Children's Privacy
NovaSwarm is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not serve personalized ads to users we know to be under the applicable age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Because the Game does not require an account, most data is anonymous; to exercise a right or request deletion of data tied to your device or cloud profile, email us and we will help.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the limited data we handle.
13. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Game after an update means you accept the revised policy.
