Cloud Hoppers — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how DevNPlay ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the mobile game Cloud Hoppers (the "Game"). We built Cloud Hoppers to be playable without you creating an account or giving us your name, and we collect as little information as possible — the Game plays fully offline, and the only things that ever leave your device are your game progress and the data an ad requires.
By downloading or playing the Game you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
2. Information We Collect
We do not ask you to register or to provide your real name, email address, or phone number to play. The information involved is limited to:
- Game progress synced to the cloud — the levels you have unlocked, your coin balance, your equipped character, the characters you own, your best star rating, best coin count, and best completion time for each level, and how many rewarded videos you have watched toward unlocking a character. Nothing else about your play is uploaded.
- A pseudonymous account identifier — to store that progress, the Game creates a random identifier through Google Firebase anonymous sign-in, and keeps it, together with a Firebase authentication token, in a file on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address, Apple ID, or any device identifier, and you are never asked to sign in. It is persistent: it survives app restarts and Reset Progress, and is removed only when you delete the Game.
- Device & technical data — our providers see your device’s IP address whenever the Game contacts them, and Google receives standard ad-request data such as device model, operating system version, language, and region when an ad is requested.
- Advertising identifier — if you allow tracking at the App Tracking Transparency prompt, Google may use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to show and measure personalized ads. We never see or store this identifier ourselves — it is read and used by Google’s advertising SDK inside the Game.
- Settings and extras kept only on your device — music and sound volume, control sensitivity, cosmetic selections, and the timer for the free coin chest live in a local file and are never uploaded.
- Support messages — if you email us, we receive the email address you write from and whatever you choose to include.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, camera or microphone data, location, health or fitness data, browsing or search history, or any content you create. The Game has no login, no user profiles, no leaderboards, no multiplayer, no chat, and no push notifications. It has no in-app purchases, so we never handle payment or financial information.
3. How We Use Information
- To run the Game and to save your progress, so it can be restored on this device if the local save is lost.
- To show the interstitial and rewarded ads that keep the Game free, and to measure whether they were delivered.
- To show personalized ads only where you have permitted tracking, and non-personalized ads everywhere else.
- Google uses ad-request data to detect and prevent ad fraud and invalid traffic, under its own policies. We ourselves receive no diagnostic or usage data with which to do this.
- To respond to your support requests.
4. Advertising
The Game is free and displays ads served by Google AdMob: short interstitials after some level endings, and optional rewarded videos you choose to watch — to revive after a fall, double a level’s coins, open the free coin chest, or work toward unlocking a character. There are no banner ads, and no ad ever interrupts you mid-level. When ads are served, Google may process your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device and app data, and your interactions with the ad, on Google’s own terms.
Before the ad system starts, the Game asks for your permission through the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, Google may show and measure personalized ads; if you decline, you still see ads, but they are non-personalized. The Game does not currently show a separate advertising-consent dialog, and there is no in-game privacy-options screen: you can change your choice at any time in your device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
The Game also uses Apple’s SKAdNetwork. When an ad leads to an install, Apple sends a privacy-preserving attribution report to the advertising network. These reports do not identify you, and they are sent by iOS whether or not you allow tracking.
5. Analytics
The Game contains no analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting software of any kind. We do not track how you play, what you tap, how long you play, or which levels you reach, and no such data is sent to us or to anyone else. The only performance measurements built into the Game run in development builds on our own machines and are printed to a local console.
6. Cloud Saves
Cloud Hoppers backs up your progress to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) as a safety net for this installation. This uses anonymous authentication: the Game creates a random identifier for your install, keeps it in a file on your device, and stores your save under that identifier. The stored record contains only the progress fields listed above. Your progress is synced when the Game starts, occasionally while you play after something changes, and when you close or background the Game.
Everything else stays on your device and is never uploaded, including your volume and sensitivity settings and your cosmetic choices. If the Game cannot reach the network, it simply keeps working offline and syncs later. The Game has no login and no way to transfer a save between devices: the backup is tied to a random identifier stored in a file on your device, so deleting the Game or installing it on another device starts a new, empty cloud profile.
7. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data only with the service providers that make the Game work — Google, for advertising (AdMob) and for cloud saves (Firebase), and Apple as the app store — and only as needed for those functions, or where required by law. Under some privacy laws, showing personalized ads can count as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt (or turning tracking off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking) stops the use of your advertising identifier for that purpose; it does not stop ads being shown, nor Google’s collection of ad-request data such as IP address and device information. You can also opt out of personalized Google ads at https://adssettings.google.com.
8. Data Retention & Deleting Your Data
Your cloud save is retained while the Game remains installed and in use. Nothing in the Game expires it automatically, so a record stays until it is erased on request. Data handled by Google for advertising is retained under Google’s own policies. Support emails are kept while your request is open and for a reasonable period afterward.
Reset Progress in the in-game settings clears your progress on the device and, the next time the Game reaches the network, overwrites your cloud save with the reset values. If the Game is offline when you reset, the cloud copy is not changed and your previous progress may be restored to the device the next time the Game syncs. Reset Progress does not delete the cloud record, and it does not delete the random identifier stored on your device. Deleting the Game removes the local save and that identifier, after which the old cloud record is no longer reachable by anyone, including us. Because the record contains no information that identifies you, we cannot locate it from an email alone: to have it erased, email [email protected] and we will explain the current steps for retrieving your installation’s identifier. To stop any further data being written, delete the Game before requesting erasure — otherwise the Game will simply write the record again on its next launch.
9. Children's Privacy
Cloud Hoppers is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). The Game does not ask for your age and has no way to determine it. Ad content is limited to Google’s "G" (general audiences) rating. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Game, contact us and we will work to address it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. The Game has no account and asks for nothing about you, so the only record we hold is a cloud save tied to a random, pseudonymous identifier rather than to you personally. You also have the right to object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw any consent you have given, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We process the cloud save to provide the Game (contract and legitimate interests) and advertising data on the basis of consent where required. DevNPlay is the controller for the cloud save; contact [email protected]. Google is an independent controller for advertising data — see https://policies.google.com/privacy. Note that the cloud record contains no information that identifies you, so we may be unable to locate it, and we cannot delete the identifier stored on your device — deleting the Game does that.
11. Security
All connections between the Game and our providers use encrypted HTTPS, and a cloud save can be read or written only by the anonymous account that created it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the limited data we handle.
12. International Transfers
Our service providers, including Google, may process data in countries other than yours, such as the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Game after an update means you accept the revised policy.
